Update of my Life - July 5, 2009

Well, it's the last month of my time off before I return to GSC in August. Time for a update on me.

I'm 19 years old now. That's right. I celebrated my birthday by working in the morning at the waterpark and then went out to eat at Shogun with my family and love of my life. This is the third birthday I have spent with Christopher. I can't wait to spent the rest of my birthdays God will bless me with with him!

I've spent this summer working two jobs. I'm still working at the newspaper, but I have also picked up a second job back at the waterpark. This is my second summer working there, and I am reminded of how much I hated working there. However, I cannot deny that I have been enjoying the additional source of income.

I have also decided to stop planning my future, and just lay back and enjoy the ride. Things happen that you don't expect. I'm going to make decisions when they come up. I am going to live out my life the way I should. I guess you could say I have matured a lot this year.

Some things I'm looking up to:
Next week - I'm going to the midnight showing of the latest Harry Potter movies with two of my bff's, Raeanne and Kari. We are also making this a girl night, and if we can all get the next day off from work, we're going to make it a sleepover. I'm excited!

Two weeks - Camping trip with Christopher, Kari, and Matt! It's going to be sooo much fun! I have never really gone camping before, so this is a new but excting experience for me!

This Weekend

This past weekend has been the first weekend that I've spend at my house without my family being there. They went to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina for my cousin, Jeffrey's wedding. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go because my family won't be coming back until late tomorrow. I have school tomorrow. In college, you can't really afford to miss a day of class or you will fall behind. It's crazy but true.

Yesterday, after my parents left, my boyfriend, Christopher came over. I didn't think I'd get to see him past Friday because he was supposed to leave yesterday for Alabama to spend his Spring Break with his uncle. Turns out his uncle couldn't come to get him until today for various reasons. Chris came over to my house, and we hung out. We played Rock Band, got online (he made me get a Neopet account, lol. megangill18 is my username in case you want to become "neofriends."), went to McDonald's for lunch, and then came back to my house to hang somemore. He stayed with me until I had to leave for work. I'm glad I got to spend some more time with my love before he went away for a week. :) I'm going to miss him while he's gone!

The only craziness to report at my work that day was when I got a call from a funeral home director at Ward's Funeral Home. It was about 6 p.m., and they were hoping I could get in a brief notice for them for Sunday's paper. Normally, this isn't a problem because the deadline for receiving obituaries is 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't at the funeral home. He seemed upset when I said I couldn't take it over the phone. That's part of the rules here. We only accept obituaries from funeral homes through emails and in an extreme situation, faxes. He was like, "Are you going to wait for us to sent the email?" Um, heck no. I don't have to wait for anyone if they don't get their obit to me before deadline. I'm just usually nice and do it anyway for them. I told him, "Yes, we will." It just made me angry that he would be upset at me for something I can't control. I can't take obits through the phone, and I can't magically make deadline go back a few hours. I don't make the rules, I just have to follow them. Why is it with every job I've ever worked there is someone who gets mad at me for the rules I don't make? What do they honestly expect to get out of me by complaining about it? Do they think I will bend the rules for them? Um, NO! Jobs are hard to find right now! I'd like to keep mine! Okay, there's my venting for today. lol.

When I got home from work, Shannon came over. We went out and got pizza. She spent the night with me. We watched movies, ate, and talked to our boyfriends on the phone. lol. I actually got into a ten minute conversation with her boyfriend. It was interesting. lol. I got her to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show. She loved it! lol. Who doesn't really? "Let's do the time warp again!" We slept in this morning and then she left when I had to come into work today.

Thank goodness for my boyfriend and bff's who have come through for me when I needed someone to be with, so I wouldn't be lonely while they were gone. I love you all! :) My family comes home tomorrow!!

This Weekend..

Except for Friday, this weekend has been full of homework. I'm such a procrastinator. I have a big speech tomorrow, and I haven't even practiced it yet. lol. I'm an OCD procrastinator, "do it right, but do it later." If I can make it through this next week of school, everything will be great! :) I guess I will leave it with that!

Yesterday, March 11, 2009. Yes, I know I'm late.

Yesterday was a great day! I'm late on posting this because when I got home last night, I was determined to finish that chapter of the book that I had to read this week for my Survey of U.S. History 2 class.

I met up with one of my newest best friends, Jennifer Messer at the Chick-fil-A in Oakwood for breakfast. We talked about our job and school. lol. Then we caught the Chick-fil-A cow that always stands out by the corner (Haha, he works the corner! :P) of Atlanta Highway and Winder Highway where the restaurant is. We asked him if we could take a picture of him, because we're just amazing like that! lol. We thought he couldn't talk, but he finally talked to us. After I took the picture of him and Jennifer, he asked what time it was. Weird, much? I guess he couldn't wait to get out of the costume! lol. We got our pictures though! lol. Then we hung out at Wal-mart. Woot! We just took some random photos, looked at clothes, stared at the fish for awhile (lol...), and just talked the whole time. I will put up the photos as soon as I get them uploaded on here.

For lunch, I met up with another one of my best friends, Joanne Allison at the restaurant Oodles. That place has amazing food! She got fettuchini alfredo, and I got three cheese macaroni. It was sooooo good! I definitely would go back there! I just need some more money. lol. We talked like best friends do. It was fun. :)

Another one of my best friends (today was bff day :)), Becca Mann came over when she got out of school. We hung out and watched Gilmore Girls. :D I was expecting another one of best friends, Leanne Taylor to come over, but she didn't show up, she didn't even answer us. I'm starting to wonder if she even really wants to be our best friend again. It's really starting to tick me off. Regardless, Becca and I still had fun like we always do. :) We even discussed the horrible education system of Georgia, this includes college. lol.

We got a call from our church's calling post. Our pastor is VERY sick. I got home too late last night, so I don't know if there is any updates. He is definitely in my prayers, him and his wife. :(

I picked up my boyfriend, Christopher, from his school last night. He has a driver's license, just not a full-functioning car. lol. That's okay. It gives me another excuse to see him. :D We watched American Idol, lol. I love being with him, and obviously he does too, if he can put up with watching a show he can't stand, because I like it. I love him with all of my heart! I can't wait to see him Friday!

So there's my update on yesterday. Now, I'm going to work on my speech, outline, and powerpoint. Maybe I'll update tonight. :)

Why, hello there!

It's been awhile since I've last written in here. It's been almost a year it looks like. Wow. Honestly, I forgot about this. lol. Nothing has really changed. I'm almost done with my first year of college. Who knew this year would fly by so fast? In two months I'll be 19 years old. In less than a month my boyfriend and I will celebrate our two year anniversary. I'm looking forward to that! :) I've made SO many new friends this year and have some new best friends. I've also had to learn the hard way who my "true" friends were.

I'm thinking about really getting into scrapbooking. It sounds fun. I want to start scrapbooking my life. Maybe I'll actually update this too. lol.
